Meet Our Team
Our mission is to ignite both physical and inner strength through powerful heated yoga and intentional movement. With experienced instructors and a vibrant, inclusive community, we provide a sanctuary where heat, detox, and movement come together to support deep personal growth and resilience—on and off the mat.
Powerhouse was born from years of teaching, learning, dreaming, and showing up—on the mat and in life. Consider this space your direct line to individual transformation and supportive community.
At Powerhouse Hot Yoga, we believe in the transformative power of yoga—not just for our bodies, but for our lives.

Averie is a trained dancer and dance instructor with a lifelong love of exploring movement. Her background in dance often weaves its way into her yoga classes, bringing a unique blend of flow, rhythm, and body awareness to the mat.
She found a calling to yoga while taking a break from performing and quickly fell in love with the way it merges mindful movement with strength and stillness. Averie enjoys both hatha and vinyasa, focusing on a strong mind-body connection.
Outside of Yoga, Averie owns a small business in Salem called Fern & Flow and loves thrifting, rearranging her houseplants, or exploring Oregon's natural beauty!

Movement has always been part of my story. In college, a friend invited me to a hot yoga class, and while I went in hoping for a good workout, I walked out with so much more. In just one class, I felt physically strong, mentally calm, and deeply connected — to myself and to those around me.
For years after, running was my anchor. I logged over 2,000 miles a year and trained for the Boston Marathon. But by 2020, I was juggling work, life, friendships, and family — and I was running straight into burnout. One early morning, a misstep on a dark road left my ankle (and my ego) shattered; my doctor recommended yoga for rehab.
At first, I resisted — yoga was just supposed to be temporary until I could run again. But weeks turned into months, and I realized something had shifted. Yoga wasn’t just healing my body; it was transforming the way I think, move, and live. It aligned me to a new way of being — one rooted in strength, balance, presence, and purpose.
Since then, I’ve earned my 200-hour yoga certificate, traveled nationally and internationally for training, and dedicated myself to sharing this practice. My classes blend strength and flow in a Vinyasa style, designed to help you feel empowered, grounded, and alive.
If you’ve ever thought:
“I want to feel better in my body.”
“I need more balance in my life.”
“I don’t know where to start.”
…then you’re exactly where you need to be. I’m here to help you unlock your potential through yoga — so you can live a more mindful, authentic, and joyful life.

Amber Pitt

My name is Amber Pitt, I’ve been teaching yoga for over 10 years, earning my 200-hour CorePower Yoga certification right after graduating college. Through three pregnancies and beyond, my practice has remained a constant source of strength and joy.
I love leading energizing Yoga Sculpt classes and strong power flows, and I’m always inspired by how yoga invites us to play, grow, and challenge ourselves—especially through inversions, one of my favorite ways to explore the mat.
Recently certified in Pilates, I enjoy blending different schools of movement, including strength training, which is a big reason I’m so excited to teach Yoga Sculpt. I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing team!

My journey with yoga began over 15 years ago under the golden sun of San Diego. I stepped into my first hot vinyasa class with no expectations and walked out transformed. What started as a physical practice quickly became a path of deep connection and personal truth. Over time, my practice has evolved with the seasons of life, becoming more than movement. It is a way of coming home to myself.
In 2023, I followed another passion and moved to Oregon to work in the wine industry. I was drawn by the land, the rhythm of nature, and the slower pace of life. Surrounded by the beauty of the Willamette Valley, I felt a deeper call rise within me. That call led me to complete my teacher training in Salem, an experience that cracked my heart wide open and deepened my purpose.
I teach breath-driven vinyasa rooted in presence, resilience, and connection. For me, yoga is both ritual and rebellion. It is a way to ground, to grow, and to remember who we are.

Rachel Wood started doing yoga in college from her basement in 2012 and after a 2 year stint in healthcare, got her 200hr RYT in 2018 while in India. Rachel came back to Salem and began teaching in gyms, yoga studios and private in-home sessions.
She is trained in the vinyasa style but loves to teach a strength and stamina based yoga practice as well as paying special homage to breathwork and an approachable meditative practice.
Outside of yoga, Rachel is a full time fine art painter working out of her home studio here in Salem. Fun fact: Rachel’s first EVER yoga class was yin class in 2009 at The Movement Center in Portland, Oregon.
